About this Project
The RO system was designed to operate at an average pressure of 20 bar with a maximum recovery of 80%. As a safeguard against particulate matters in the feed stream, the system was equipped with two stainless steel cartridge cluster housings.
The concentrate stream produced by the RO unit is high in dissolved salts, many of which may exceed their solubility and precipitate out on the membrane surface. To avoid this, the feed water is dosed with an antiscalant to prevent this precipitation from occurring.
The mobile RO unit is a fully automatic system that incorporates VSD controlled feed pump and transmitters for flow, pressure, as well as water analysis. A CIP system has also been installed to enable self-cleaning of the membranes and minimise downtime.
The imposed border restrictions prevented the Client’s personnel from witnessing the full plant FAT in person. To complete the in-house commissioning while maintaining the validity of witness testing, Gradiant Australia collaborated with the Client to set up a remote commissioning scheme.
An FAT plan was provided to the Client in advance for approval, ensuring all the key testing points have been addressed. Utilising the real-time communication and screenshare capability, Gradiant Australia successfully demonstrated the full functionality of the plant in all operation modes available (i.e. start-up, production, shutdown, flush, CIP, power failure, and emergency stop).
