NSW T&I WTP – Burrinjuck and Copeton
About this Project
Following the commissioning of previous plants for NSW Trade and Investment, Gradiant Australia was chosen to design and fabricate additional water treatment facilities at Burrinjuck and Copeton Water Holiday Parks. The primary objective of the WTPs is to treat raw water to meet NSW T&I specifications including the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG).
The two systems utilize Evoqua Ultrafiltration Membranes and incorporate coagulant to treat high turbidity raw water. Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filtration is provided removal of remaining organics/toxins. Treated water is dosed with sodium hypochlorite and continuously monitored. The treated effluent flowrates for the Burrinjuck and Copeton sites are each 250 kL/day.
The plants are fully automated with a local PLC, and process alarms are sent to the project control system indicating a need for maintenance. Gradiant Australia was also involved with installation, commissioning and operator training onsite.
