Wastewater Treatment

November 2013

About this Project

Gradiant Australia was chosen to design and fabricate a fourth sewage treatment plant for the Gorgon Gas Project on Barrow Island. Gradiant Australia was selected having previously delivered plants for this project successfully, proving our knowledge and commitment to the project’s strict quality and quarantine requirements.

The plant has been designed to comply with the rigid treated effluent requirements, incorporating biological nutrient removal and Siemens B40N submerged membrane technology.  The contract also included the supply of balance tanks, treated water storage and disinfection, aerobic digester and a containerised centrifuge dewatering system.

The plant is fully automated including all membrane cleaning sequences and is controlled by an Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC. Gradiant Australia was also involved with supervising the installation and undertook commissioning and operator training onsite.
